FAQ'S
HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE RESULTS IN MY SKIN?
Skin takes 28 days to regenerate. If you are trying a new skincare routine, allow at least 28 days before you make a judgement. Drink plenty of water as no skincare product will be able to overcome dehydration from within.
WHAT IS A PARABEN?
A chemical compound that may be used to preserve a cosmetic product, some studies show parabens potentially cause skin irritation, disrupt our hormones and even potentially cause cancer. Interestingly, parabens occur naturally in fruits and vegetables such as onions, blueberries and carrots (for example). As such, we cant guarantee our formulas are 'paraben free', but we certainly haven't added them!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY 'NATURAL'?
Our ingredients can be found in nature and are plant based (unless specified).

They are either:
- Purely natural (for example, shea butter and cold-pressed carrier oils).
- Naturally derived (the ingredients have been harvested by nature, but have undergone a chemical process).
- Nature identical (they have been made in a laboratory).
ie. When this ingredient is more sustainable being produced in a lab, but chemically it is identical.

An example of a lab produced naturally identical compound would be Bisabolol.
It is traditionally obtained by steam distillation of the essential oil extracted from Brazilian Candeia trees. 1 tonne of wood from mature trees produces 7 kg of essential oil, which must then be further processed to obtain pure bisabolol. This process carries a significant environmental impact. Bisabolol can be produced in a lab reducing deforestation and the impact on the environment whilst harvesting.
DO WE USE PRESERVATIVES?
Yes. You will find them in products that contain water, or may come into contact with water in the pottle. It is of the utmost importance that you are safe. The last thing you want is to apply mouldy or bacteria infested products to your skin. Some ingredients (such as aloe vera) can readily grow nasties.
All preservatives are natural. If you have any questions about them, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to answer you.
WHY DO WE APPLY OIL TO OUR SKIN?
Oils, butters and fats are known as lipids. Lipids carry out important functions in our bodies. In regards to the skin, they are critical for healthy cell structure and cell membrane functions (such as moderating water and oil transportation into and out of our cells). Lipids are also a source of essential fatty acids for cell structures and prostaglandin synthesis (when cells need repairing), They also transport oil-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K).
When we apply lipids to our skin, they are absorbed or remain on the surface of the skin, creating a protective barrier (occlusive effect), help us retain water and allow healthy skin cell regeneration beneath.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
We offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your product in any way, we will happily refund you. Contact us via email to start the process.
DOES THE OIL IN MY SKINCARE PRODUCT CAUSE ACNE?
Acne is caused by various things. One of the factors affecting acne development is the blocking of pores. Some oils are known to block pores worse than others. You can research the comedogenic scale to find out more, but this scale is not the be all and end all regarding this topic. Some people can tolerate thicker oils better than others.
How likely a product is to block your pores depends on the combination of oils and whether the oil will stay on your face, or be washed off (eg. in a cleanser or mask). Read our product descriptions for more info.

Our advice is, if you are experiencing or prone to acne, stick to low comedogenic formulas, or use 'wash off' cleansers and masks with thicker oils like coconut oil. Replenish cleansed skin that may have been stripped of natural oils with hemp seed or jojoba oils to reduce the natural production of sebum.
